My name is Pirkko Suvanto, i am an occupational therapist, with over 25 years of experience working with rehabilitation. In my work i get to see people with all ages struggling with all the different symptoms disability can bring, physical and mental. I also have a firsthand experience in disability as i was diagnosed with rheumatism, 30 years ago!
As occupational therapist we try to motivate and activate to customer and we use many kinds of tools in our line of work. In rehabilitation it is important to find the motivation within the customer, rehabilitation is most likely to succeed when the customer is motivated to work, not just when the therapist is present, but also in the spare time!
